Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral was among the most Google searched topics on Monday in almost all of the 49 countries tracked by the site, as millions of people around the world tuned in to watch Britain lay to rest its longest-serving monarch.
The state funeral appeared to be missing from search trends in Mexico, Chile, Indonesia, Peru, Vietnam and Saudi Arabia around midday, shortly after the service ended at Westminster Abbey. Google’s tracking skews more toward highly developed countries in the northern hemisphere, with many smaller nations in the global south missing from the search giant’s trends site.
